PAINTINGS
Black is the lack of color and should be acquired by mixing many hues together. I feature and simplify my work with monochromatic hues. It is featured, however as a primary hue that I like to use directly out of a can. Another option I use is to mix a single hue with charcoal. By painting out an initial element, that can later be detected as partially present, I am emphasizing that this element was once necessary. Editing is always integral to the process, to alter and represent important subtle facets hidden beneath the surface. These are connections that excite me.
